In loving memory of his mother, all proceeds from the sale of Andrew Finkelstein’s book, I Hope We never Meet, will be donated to the Jewish Family Service Diane Finkelstein Families in Crisis Fund. To learn more about Finkelstein & Partners please click this link.
Through our Diane Finkelstein Families in Crisis Fund, we are able to empower families to regain independence and control of their financial situation by helping them make ends meet. Our goal is to provide a one-time grant to help support families and individuals by maintaining self-sufficiency. As our funds allow, we provide financial assistance to those affected by medical emergencies, loss of employment, natural disaster, fire, those in need of emergency food supply, and help applying for public assistance.
This program is made possible by the family of Diane Finkelstein and the generosity of our donors. Additional funding is provided by the United Way. Funds are not allocated immediately, and all applicants must fill out an application which is reviewed by a committee. For information about these supports, applicants must first participate in a phone screening by calling us at (845) 341-1173 x 312.
Some financial assistance is also available for individuals with urological or digestive disease through our partnership with the Premier Cares Foundation Grant Fund of the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley. For more information, please call us at (845) 341-1173 x 306.
The process to receive supports through JFS Orange takes at least a couple of weeks. In case of an emergency or immediate help, click here to see a list of other resources and services in Orange County.
